Fall 2021 update
Updates
The Division of Educational Ventures has two categories of student employees: Campus-based students and Ecampus (non-campus) students. Campus-based students are those who take in-person classes on campus even though some classes may be only online. Ecampus (non-campus) students are those who live elsewhere and do not come to campus, taking all courses exclusively online.
Campus-based students will…
- Work on campus during the term, and may work remotely during breaks unless work has to be completed on campus
- Have a remote work agreement that allows for working remotely during breaks if applicable
- Work between the hours of 8am and 5pm PDT/PST
- Not work on observed holidays and University closure days
- Be allowed to check-out a laptop for remote work if necessary to access Adobe Creative Cloud
- Be allowed to check-out a portable hard drive if necessary
Ecampus (non-campus) students will…
- Have a remote work agreement
- Work between the hours of 8am and 5pm PDT/PST
- Not work on observed holidays and University closure days
- Be provided a laptop, if necessary to access software, unless shipping is required
- Be directed to Payroll (payroll@oregonstate.edu) if residence is out of state
Fall-term campus work
- Populate workstations according to the department’s seating chart
- Please wipe down the workstation with disinfecting wipes at the start and end of each shift
- Do not eat food at the workstation; drinks are okay in suitable containers
- Contact your supervisor if you are going to be more than 15 minutes late, if possible
- Contact your supervisor if you are ill or cannot make it in for the shift
- Familiarize yourself with the orange flag locations!
Fall-term campus supervision
The department supervisor may be working from a remote location while students are working on campus. Your supervisor will share their schedule or calendar with you. If working remotely, your supervisor will communicate via Slack or email to coordinate work and schedules. Your supervisor will be available to address work-related questions and issues.
If your supervisor is working from a remote location, any “on-site supervisor” will be able to answer general questions, assist with technical issues, and be available in case of an emergency or evacuation. Available on-site supervisors can be identified by a raised orange flag.
