28 H5P

H5P is an HTML5 plugin that allows users to create interactive experiences on the web. H5P is simple and efficient, requiring only a website and the application. It works on all mediums—phones, laptops, and tablets. There is content ranging from interactive videos and pictures, to games, to writing and word activities.

Set-up 

1. To use H5P, you must create an account and sign up for a free trial: https://h5p.org/user/register. If your organization is registered, sign in with their credentials or the ones assigned to you. Feel free to visit the examples and get to know each of activities, how they work, and what they are best used for.
    
    
   
2. Log onto Pressbooks, and navigate to the textbook where H5P will be used.
3. On the lefthand column, click on Plugins, then activate H5P on the next screen.
    
    
   

How to use

1. Looking at the left hand column again when you are in the book you want to add H5P to, click on “H5P Content” towards the bottom.
    
    
   
2. Click “Add New” at the top, and pick which applications you want to have installed. In this option, you will get to create the specific interactive content that you wish.
    
    
   
3. When you are in a specific chapter where you want the application implemented, click “Add H5P” at the top, next to the “Add Media” button. This should allow you to insert the H5P activity you created. Alternatively, you can copy and paste the HTML code that is provided at the end of step 2.
