Andrew Hoekman is an economics major with a minor in political science at Oregon State University. He will graduate in spring 2025 and plans to attend Gonzaga University School of Law, where he aims to specialize in tax or business law. During his undergraduate studies, Andrew engaged in coursework exploring government powers, leading to an excerpt of his work on Trump v. United States (PS 381, Fall 2024) being included in this textbook. He hopes to practice law in the Eugene, Oregon area.

Katherine McKenna is a student at Oregon State University with a political science major and a Spanish minor. She is also a member of the OSU Women’s Rowing team and has been since her freshman year. She worked on this project going into her junior year, after previously completing constitutional law classes with Dr. Rorie Solberg. After completing her bachelor’s, she plans on attending law school.

Charlotte Pietrzak is a double major studying Psychology and Political Science with a concentration in law and politics at Oregon State University. She is also minoring in Sociology. She currently works for Community Engagement & Leadership on campus to involve students in service work and current events and intends to continue that work until her graduation in Winter 2026. Ms. Pietrzak plans to spend her final year on campus applying to work with The Peace Corps for the immediate years following graduation. Upon conclusion of her time, she intends to return to academia to continue her study of social sciences and sees herself in legal and political work in the far future.

Fox Perez is a political science major and journalism student at Oregon State University with a concentration in American law and politics. He graduates in the spring term of 2026. He has worked as the OSU student government beat reporter for The Daily Barometer, telling stories about the lives of those in Corvallis. After graduation, Mr. Perez plans to become a political journalist and one day pursue a law degree.

Makenna Perry is a Political Science Major with an emphasis in Law and Politics, also with a minor in psychology at Oregon State University. She will be graduating in the spring of 2025. She also is the Secretary of the Oregon State Pre-Law Society. After graduation she plans on working as a legal assistant for a year before going to law school hopefully in Oregon. She hopes to work as a criminal prosecutor, but eventually would like to specialize in working for special victims.

Jacob Staab is an economics major with a minor in political science. He graduates in June of 2025. He was president of the Oregon State University economics club, and afterward served as a student advisor. He plans to attend law school in Oregon. He hopes to go into tax law, practicing somewhere in the Pacific Northwest.

Sloan Harmel is a political science major with minors in both sociology and French. Graduating in 2025, she will be taking a gap year to work as a legal administrative assistant before attending law school back home in Colorado. She also participated in the American Politics Research Group conducting research surrounding the Supreme Court Confirmation process under the guidance of Professor Rorie Solberg and served as treasurer for the Pre-Law Society during her time at Oregon State. Ms. Harmel hopes to work as an employment and ERISA lawyer upon completing law school. Go beavs!

Alex Nobiletti is majoring in political science at Oregon State University, following the law and politics option. Alex is finishing his bachelor’s degree at OSU after receiving two associates degrees from Linn Benton Community College, one in political science and one in communications. He will be attending Willamette University’s School of Law in the fall of 2025, study constitutional law, and hopes to become a judge at some point in his career.

Sobhi Sidani is a finance major with a minor in Political Science with a concentration of Law and Politics. Sobhi graduates in spring of 2025. After graduation Sobhi plans on attending law school and practicing corporate law.
